Testimony of Conversion Story

I have not always been a Christian, because before I came to Christ, my parents were not Christians, they believed in traditional gods, which bring those rains, for their crops. And since I was born among them, I grew up seeing these kinds of practices, there was no bible to read, nothing of any kind related to Christian life. I did not have any knowledge of God of the Bible. I used to see many idol worshipping and other kinds of devil worship, around me as a young boy; because people think they are gods. And that they would answer their prayers, or solve their problems.

I realized I need Jesus and received him into my life when I left Sudan back in 1989, leaving behinds idol worshipping and practices, I came to Kenya, a place where I began to hear about God of the Bible. I went to a gathering of people, who teaches that there is a place of fire, and a place where people who believes in Jesus will not go. I joined them, and they taught me how to pray for the food, and when going to sleep, and when waking up. I got confirmation, and was baptized in the Name of the Father and of Son and of the Holy Spirit. I realized I needed Jesus into my life, by having a close relationship with him. I pray and ask Him to lead me, forgive me my sins and I totally given my life to him, from that day forwards.

The biggest change I have notice in my life is when I continue to pray, and fast, and I saw that God got closer to me, and open my understanding of the scriptures. I got much closer to him, through prayer, fasting, and singing.

May I share how something like this can happen to you? When you say yes to God, you may see many things. I remember when I give my life to God, there was shortage of money, and it seems that nothing was working. It goes on for a while, until I continue to live by faith. I saw peace and joy, even though I did not have money. I see people were coming to have friendship with me, thinking that I have something they desire, because they see me happy, yet I don’t have money. God was giving joy and peace every single day of the way. It is important to learn that when you give your life to Christ, Jesus, things will not always be easy. It took me five years to experience God’s hand in my life. I went through all kinds of difficulties, but I saw God in them, by giving me peace of mind and heart.

Recovery Story

My life seemed normal until I got into automobile accident, on my way to Iowa, my car got into hit on and I was ejected from the car, while not wearing a seat bell. I was taken to the hospital for one day. The following day I was discharged from the hospital. It was at that moment that I sought God’s directions, and I pray and ask him to heal my wounds. After I came to Nebraska, God healed my wounds, without going back to the hospital within one week. From that time forwards, my faith in God begin to increase, more prayer, more fasting, and depending on God’s power and might to do his work. 

I discovered hope and help in Jesus when he healed my wounds after that tragedy that made me become bald headed. I trusted him, and he also led me through the dark days of my life, both ups and downs. I discovered hope and helped when He lead me through the wilderness of Sudan for 20 years, without me seeing my parents. I discovered hope and help when I could not talked to my parents, brothers, sisters, after twenty years of separation.

I am glad I have a personal relationship with Jesus today, because I’m no longer living under the physical desire of my earthly nature. I live by faith, believing that God exist, and he answer prayers, when people ask him sincerely from their hearts. I am glad I have a personal relationship with Jesus today, because I can ask him in prayer and would be at peace knowing that He is in control, and not I, because I’ m limited. I am glad I have a personal relationship with Jesus today, because, when I die I have a place where my soul would go. I am glad I have a personal relationship with Jesus today, because I have confessed him as my Lord and Savior. I am glad that my name is written in heaven, at the internal life book.
